Basic and Optional Auto Coverage

Here is a quick rundown of what’s included in your auto insurance policy

Required by law:

Third-Party Liability Coverage - a minimum of $200,000 - to cover the cost of injuries or damages to someone's property.
Statutory Accident Benefits Coverage to provide benefits if you're injured in a car accident.
DC-PD Coverage, also called direct compensation, to cover damage to your car if someone else is at fault.
Uninsured Automobile Coverage to receive benefits following a hit-and-run or when the at fault driver does not have insurance.

Additional (optional) coverage

Increasing your Third Party Liability Coverage to $1 million or $2 million.
Extending your Accident Benefits Coverages - ask your broker for all the options.
Getting Comprehensive Coverage for a number of situations that aren't related to collisions with another object.
Getting Collision or Upset Coverage for most collisions between two vehicles, or between your car and another object.
Adding policy endorsements which will extend your coverage.
