It is that time of the year again. Christmas is fast approaching and we could not be more excited! If you are like us and want to get into the Christmas spirit sooner rather than later, then this blog post is definitely for you. In this blog post, we list 3 Christmas events that are happening in Toronto this weekend.
1) Toronto Christmas Market
The Toronto Christmas Market has just opened last weekend, so this weekend would be a great opportunity to visit. The Toronto Christmas Market is held at the Distillery District in Toronto and is open from Tuesday-Sunday up until the 23rd of December. The hours vary each day, so it is a good idea to check their website for the hours before visiting. Tickets are $6.00 on weekends (including Friday after 5pm). However, if you do decide to go during the week, admission is free up until 5pm on Fridays.
The Toronto Christmas Market has lots of fun things to do for the whole family. You can listen to carolers, watch various music and dance performances, enjoy some delicious food and drinks, take a look around and maybe buy some gifts from the various vendors, and much more. Also, don’t forget to enjoy all the Christmas lights, decorations, and, of course, the beautiful Christmas tree. There is so much to do at the Toronto Christmas Market, so be sure to check it out!
2) Swedish Christmas Fair
The Swedish Christmas Fair is another Christmas event that you don’t want to miss out on this weekend. The Swedish Christmas Fair is happening this Saturday and Sunday (November 24th and 25th) at the Harbourfront Centre. This event is completely free to attend and it will be fun for the whole family. You can listen to carols, make some Christmas crafts, shop from various vendors selling homemade ornaments, crafts, decor, and more. You’ll also have to try out all of the Swedish treats and delicacies that will be offered there. This is only a two-day event, so be sure to check it out this weekend!
3) Cavalcade of Lights
The Cavalcade of Lights is another free event happening downtown this weekend. It is happening this Saturday (November 24th) at Nathan Phillips Square. There will be magical Christmas lights all around the square, you can enjoy skating outdoors, watch the tree lighting ceremony, listen to many great musicians all night long, and enjoy the fireworks display near the end of the night. To get a full list of the performances and activities, check out their website for the schedule.
